Windows xp mouse wheel not working

Since installed it in my 'host' machine, scrolling via the mouse wheel does not work in any Windows Virtual PC that I have created. I have tried re-installing Integration components without getting the scroll wheel to work.

Actually, it will scroll a little if you scroll very fast. However, it is unusable in this way. Anyone have similar issues? Previously I had a Logitech wireless mouse with scroll wheel and there were not issue scrolling in Virtual machines. I have installed the latest Intellipoint drivers in the Host machine.

Then download the Microsoft mouse driver from:. When the low-res mouse wheels scroll, the driver of the mouse will send a certain value of magnitude. As per that, if the mouse gives a magnitude of or , that should be considered as a single scroll.

It will generally cause a part scroll. If not, some applications will wait until it receives the full amount of magnitude to complete a single scroll. As a result of that, you will experience a slower mouse scroll on-screen. To do this, you should compare the behaviors of the scroll in several different programs. If you find a noticeable difference, you should either reinstall the program. If not, you can even change the mouse settings within the respective program itself.

Then, you should see if the scroll wheel issue is gone. Every hardware component connected to your system unit requires a driver. The system unit will identify the functionalities of the respective hardware component through these drivers. A driver is a specific set of instructions that bridges the hardware and CPU. When these driver software programs are corrupted, outdated, or missing, the respective component will start to malfunction.

In this case, you will have to update the mouse driver and see if the problem is gone. In most cases, the problem can be resolved with this method and get your mouse working back. There are two options to consider when updating the drivers installed on your computer. You either do it manually or do it automatically. For the latter, you will require a professional tool like Driver Easy.

I have researched this issue for a few days but have not been able to find a fix. I am pretty sure its a problem local to that PC since every other user using the application published on the same server are not having any issues. What could it be? I guess I might as well start an answer for this. Also, do you use an ICA file to make the connection? These files also exist in the Citrix folder under Program Files somewhere, which you can also compare.

In case you haven't already tried it, you might want to attempt to reinstall Citrix on this client. Sign up to join this community. The best answers are voted up and rise to the top.
